Well Miss Geico fans for the fourth year in a row we were crowned 2009 World Champs in Key West this past weekend. Sorry it has been so long for the posts but it was a very busy end of the year trying to build up to what happened over the weekend. The crew did a great job getting the Mystic ready with some long hours put in but it was worth it. The first two days of racing were awesome as we got into an early lead then just put it on cruise control from there. We did have it won yet because it Aqua Mania had one on Sunday because of the points we would have been tied. The tie breaker would have been based on time so it was still any ones game. Unfortunate Aqua Mania flipped on Saturday during testing and were out of the race. We worked with the team in anyway that we could but it was going to be very unsafe for them to race on Sunday. We of course did not want to win this way because they are a great team and would have loved to race them on Sunday. Thanks everyone for the support over they year it has been tough with all that has gone on for this team. However, in true Miss Geico fashion we came together as a team and made it all work. Michigan City

Hello, to all the Miss Geico fans from around the world and Michigan City Indiana. First we would like to thank the town of Michigan City for hosting a great event, possibly one of the best all year. The weekend did not go how we would have liked it with the boat breaking on Saturday during testing and working all night to get it put back together. Then breaking on Sunday two laps into the race it was just not a good weekend for the Mystic but we will get it worked out as we always do for the second leg of the Miss Geico Triple Crown in Patchgoue NY. Thanks to everyone that helped out with the boat on Saturday night without everyones' help we would have not made it to the water on Sunday. Sarasota Grand Prix

Miss Geico cannot think of a better place to spend the Fourth of July then Sarasota Florida. I know its been a while since you have heard from us on here but we have been very busy trying to get the Mystic ready. Sarasota however was great as always! The parade on Thursday night was the best it ever has been and while of course it rained almost everyday we were there, the weather cleared up great for Sunday. It was a great battle at the start with CMS but they had a mechanical issue and were forced out of the race. We look forward to getting to race them again in the near future. As for the Miss Geico team well as I said before we have been working on the Mystic and are getting very close, we plan to race it in Michigan City in a few weeks. Miss Gecio Triple Crown Round 1

Ocean City Maryland is a town that knows how to host an offshore race. The weather was great, well ok maybe not on Friday night but after that cleared right up. The fans there are amazing, water is great and it was just an all around great weekend. Miss Geico had a great show in OC with Geico Reps coming into town to enjoy the event. We would like to thank Bull on the Beach for taking care of our team with food for the weekend. Seacrets Bar and Grill were great to us with the Friday night party and then the awards on Sunday. The Commander Hotel and the Atlantic Hotel were as always great places to stay. Sunset Marina was awesome with the crane and parking, having no issues as of yet. Most of all the Mayor of Ocean City, Rick Meehan, came to enjoy the event on Sunday in the Geico Hospitality Area. He was very excited about what the race brought to OC and looks forward to event coming back. We would like to thank everyone who came out and showed their support for the first leg of the Miss Geico Triple Crown. Lake Cumberland Grand Prix

Hey all you Miss Geico fans, we hope everyone is doing well. The team would like to say thanks to all the great fans from Lake Cumberland. We had a great weekend up there and we cannot wait to go back next year. The MTI ran great as she always does and it was just a perfect weekend. State Dock and the houseboats were great thanks to those guys for all their hard work. JBS Racing even came out a raced a loaner boat to stay in the chase for the season. We move on to Ocean City Maryland next for the first leg of the Miss Geico Triple Crown . We are really excited about that race and look forward to all our great fans. Hey Miss Geico fans sorry it has taken so long to get out latest post up but we have been very busy working on the boats. The fans in Biloxi are great because even as it rained they still came on Saturday to see the team and watch what little practice went on. Well just like the race in Detroit the boat show proved to be no different. It was great to see the volunteers from the hydroplane races, some city elected officials and of course all the Miss Geico fans! Miss Geico in Key West

Well Miss Geico fans so far Key West has been good to us and we feel great about the races heading into Sunday. A small electrical issue on Wensday put us a few laps down, however we came back with a dominating win yesterday(Friday) to make up for some lost ground from the previous race. The issue was a twenty dollar part that was fixed in ten minutes. After some testing on Thursday and a last minute adjustment before we put the boat in the water there was no question that the boat was perfect at the drop of the green flag. JBS Racing had an early lead but within the first turn Marc and Scotty put the hammers down and it was lights out. All the fans cheered as we were perfect with speeds reaching 160 miles per hour. The crew is doing some work today then testing this afternoon we will be ready for Sunday. If you are in or around Key West don't forget to stop by and say hi.

Hey everyone after the Miss Geico Triple crown we moved onto the Offshore Super Series National Championship at Lake of the Ozarks. It was a great weekend of racing on one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. The Horny Toad was a great place to eat and hang out and the lake water was perfect. JBS Racing showed up with their new boat and it was great to have those guys back in the game. Miss Geico took the National Championship with wins on both days. Thanks to everyone at the Lake who made us feel so welcome and we cannot wait to go back next year. Also thank you to OSS for a great season!!!!!

Hello all hope everyone is doing well. We are sorry it has taken so long to get the blog updated but there have been some techincal issues that have all gotten worked out.

New York
Miss Geico and AMF wants to extend their thoughts and prayers for the Aero Express Team if this time of loss. New York was a great race and we want to thank everyone that put so much time and work into such a great event.

New Jersey
Well Hannah tried to slow us down in Point Pleasant but as always the OPA and Miss Geico came out on top with GREAT conditions on Sunday. In fact Saturday afternoon was the worst time but don't worry we had fun to pass the time. The final race of the Miss Geico Triple crown went off with out a hitch on Sunday with sunny skies and a nice ground swell of about 6 feet. The MTI ran awesome as she put another win in her belt taking the top gun award. The boat has since then been taken back to the shop with some work being done before a very big race at Lake of the Ozarks. Hope to see everyone there!!!!!

Al Copeland Memorial

Miss Geico Racing was honored to be part of such a great race to benefit The Al Copeland Foundation. The Friday night party was one of if the best we have been to all year and we know why the Copeland Family has such good restaurants. The racing was a lot of fun on the flat water course. The boat had a small issue in testing but the team got it worked and by Sunday the boat was ready to go 100%. The CRC MTI was very fast and was not letting Mark and Scotty get to far away from them. However the Turbine engines were perfect and we had plenty of power for them. Mike and Jeff are doing a great job with that boat and we look forward to racing them again. Bud Light was getting faster as the race went on but it was not be after the yellow came out for a boat rolling over in turn one. Thanks to everyone that help put the event on in a very short amount of time and we are very excited about next year.

The first thing the whole Miss Geico team would like to say is thank you to all the fans in St. Clair for a GREAT weekend. The fans in that town are some of the best we get to see all year and we cannot wait to go back next year. We hope the fans enjoyed the race as much as we enjoyed being there. The boat ran great with no problems and topped out at a speed of 178 mph which was perfect for the boat. The Cintron Mysitc looked awesome and we wish that team all the best with the new boat and we can't to face them again in the future. The team is now off to Kenner LA for the Al Copeland Mermoiral Race with OSS. We are looking forward to racing Bud Light as we always do. Detroit ROCKS!!!!

All the Miss Geico race team can say about Detroit is WOW. It was a great weekend here with all the Hydroplanes and the activites that took place. To top it all off we had the best sponsor anyone could ask for. The Detroit Yacht Club are a great group of people and they made sure that we had a great time while in town, every night we were there. We cannot thank those guys enough. We also want to thank all the members of the Detroit River Regatta Association for all their hard work. The short course and windy weather made for some great racing on Sunday when it was to rough for the Hydroplanes. There is more good news to come out of this weekend as well. After some long talks with the St. Clair group we have decided to leave the boat and hauler up there and run St. Clair in two weeks. It should be a great event as always and we are looking forward to making the trip. Hope to see everyone in St. Clair!!!

Ocean City

Hey all hope everyone is doing well. The first race of the Miss Geico Triple Crown is in the books and man what a weekend it was. On Saturday the wind was blowing really strong out of the south and the ocean was not happy at all. Put the Mystic in the water and it ran great but we hit a wave wrong and took one of those tips off the front of the boat. The boat did get fixed but we went back to the MTI for the race on Saturday but it also had some issues after the Annapolis run. The MTI ran great and took the Top Gun award on Sunday. It was a tough race though because the wind had shifted out of the east which made it a little rough. It was a true offshore race. No one got hurt and with 54 boats at the race you could not have asked for a better weekend. Next we are off to Sunny Isles FL so make sure to catch up with us there!!!

Annapolis to Baltimore

Today Miss Geico ran from Annapolis to Baltimore, Maryland in 10 Minutes and 13 Seconds. It was a great day for the run with calm water and very little wind. The boat ran great and was always smooth and calm on the water. We are no in Ocean City, Maryland getting ready for the First of the Geico Triple Crown Races. The action kicks Friday with the dry pits being at Sunset Marina. Racing action wil begin on Sunday at 12 p.m. Hope to see everyone on the beach!!!

Hey All sorry it has been a while for the update but we have been getting ready for the first Triple Crown Race in Ocean City, MD. There has been a lot of work put into the Mystic with testing the week before and yesterday. Both days went well and the boat should be perfect for OC. However before OC is the Point to Point Run from Annapolis to Balitmore on MAy 29 2008. This is going to be a great year for this event the MTI is ready to roll as always and it should be a great show with some local heros coming out to play on the run. Ft. Lauderdale

Hi all hope everyone is having a good monday. Well Miss Geico has pulled out of Ft. Lauderdale and has now set her sites on the first of the Geico Triple Crown races. Ft. Lauderdale was a very rough race and it seemed to takes its toll on a lot of boats. As for Miss Geico well we ran the Platinum after some trouble with the Mystic and the boat did great running in the six to seven foot seas. Don't worry about the Mystic though she will be more then ready for Ocean City. Keep checking the web site for picture updates and dont forget to make your plans for O.C.

Miami Update

Hey Everyone just wanted to give an update on Miami. Team Geico had a great time down there and as always the weather, water, and race site were great. Miss Geico took the over all victory with Aqua Mania having problems before the start of the race. It was a little rough but perfect for the MTI. Next for us will be Ft. Lauderdale in three weeks May 3rd and 4th. Hope to see everyone there!!!!

Biloxi and Miami

Hey all sorry it has been a while since our past post but there has been a lot of working going into this Geico team over the winter with the new Mystic and of course the MTI. All that hard work payed of in Biloxi when we took the overall win beating Bud Light and CRC. It was a great with race Bud Light making up some ground on the long starights but we just out turned them. It was great to get the win and what a great way to start the season.

Now we are in Miami for the APBA\SBI opener and feeling really good about the weekend. If you in the Miami area please stop by and say hello!!!! Talk to everyone soon!!!

Chattanooga!!!

What a weekend! The GEICO "BBQ"team really out did themselves this weekend! The camp was great really beautiful situated on the Cucamonga river shoreline. This set the stage for some blistering speeds by the OPA teams in attendance. Miss GEICO was in her standard flat water race setup. Our initial pass ended up short with a blown intake water line. This put our port engine into guardian at 186mph. Not fun. an hour later the team had both hoses replaced and Miss GEICO laid down a two way average of 188.5 miles per hour with a top speed of over 190 mph setting an new record for the "Chattanooga Mile".
Sat came in strong and Scotty and I felt good about how the boat was performing and ripped a sizzling 136 mph lap speed at 2:11 sec on our first test hot lap.

Sunday brought another beautiful Tennessee day and the anticipation of a n OPA championship trophy. We set the boat on cruise with D&M 10 boat lengths behind. Unfortunately, on the 10th lap a fuel miscalculation in the port tank left us down a motor and 2nd place in the standings. A quick valve switch to transfer fuel allowed us to finish the race. Congrats to D&M on their OPA Cup

LOTO!

Sorry for the delay on getting some info up. LOTO was awesome, the people in the Midwest are fantastic and thy love their fast boats. Great competition with the other extreme boats on Sat. Bud Select, Bob Morgan and the 5000hp Skater and CRC. CRC got a jump on us after I called a pin by mistake and Scotty pulled out on the straight at 170 too bad because It was a short course and the boat felt like it was on rails. A blown water hose ended our day after 4 laps.ARRRRRGH the first race all season that we didn't finish...Oh well there's always TOMORROW!! Sunday was perfect weather and the same line up in extreme. Once again CRC caught us at the end of the straight as we couldn't pull more than 168. (we later found out a crew member had overfilled the boat with 200...that's right 200 extra gallons of fuel 1400 xtra lbs) . By the 4th lap we had a half a lp on BMR and Bud . No worries we sat on CRC's hip for 10 laps till we broke 'em . MISS GEICO TAKES FIRST OVERALL IN EXTREME OSS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS .Cudos to Mike and Jeff they really ran well....but HEY they aren't racing us RIGHT (wink). Bottom line is Scotty and I can't wait to get back to LOTO next year to race again.

Well it's travel time. ScottyB's on his way out with Haggin and Jerry. Russ just called and he's close to LOTO now. Big race this weekend.... looking forward to getting back into the MTI and running hard with CRC and Bud Select in the Lake of the OZARKS. It will be a fast race. Butterflies already.

Cambridge...The Platinum just did not want to behave this past weekend. It's funny 3000hp never felt so slow...is the MTI that much faster...I think so. Oh well, it was great fun battling it out with Rich and Herbie (Cintron). They are great racers and really good guys. (See pic) Both teams were due to retire the Platinum/Skaters after this race. Kinda sad to think that the old girl won't be out on the course anymore.....maybe just one more time in Chattanooga :) Hey Cintron...wanna come play??

Had a great race with Cintron in Cambridge, they seemed to run great until they lightened up on fuel and we got around them on lap 6. Great Head to head racing.

Big Race in Lake of the Ozarks this weekend, the OSS National championship. I'm excited because we will be back on the course with Bud Select again and we'll also be back in the MTI
